Thank you for the Mothers Day wishes. I hope you had a day as lovely as mine. I began my morning with a cranky 10 year old who quickly redeemed herself when she gave me a handmade card in which she had written:
Happy M-Day Mommy.
You are the Best mom ever.
You inspier me every day.
You are so artistic.
If I had another mom, you would be the one I love better.
I Love U, Shea
After church, my mother-in-law joined us for lunch at my mother's house. We had a casual lunch followed by an afternoon of Ferrero Rocher chocolates (among my favorites), sweet iced tea, and handwork at the table. I worked on hexagons while my mother picked all the stitching out of a quilted baby blanket of mine. The cotton cheater print at the top of the image was a blanket with a polyester binding, batting, and backing (circa early 1970's). I think I'll try to use the fabric in a quilt. The other stack is some of my baby clothes which I'll work into a project after I finish up a few more of my current WIPs. My daughter walked down the street to visit my grandfather (her great-grandfather) and stayed a while playing on his recumbent stationary bicycle and exploring his small container garden while he refilled his bird feeders.
All in all, a wonderful, relaxing, yet productive day. Thank you for the lovely afternoon, Mama.
