I'm in!

I received this email yesterday afternoon...

Then I did a happy dance! I'm so excited. And scared and nervous at the same time! Mostly excited at this point.

Quilt top in progress

Last night I started another quilt top (a disappearing nine patch)
using Moda 'Hopscotch' charm packs. They were marked down and I had
bought two packs (80, 5" squares) a few weeks ago.

I bought fabric for the border, back and binding today, which wasn't
marked down; tricky tactic at the fabric store? I think so. I just
needed a photo for reference before I start sewing the blocks together
so I thought I'd upload this one.

I have someone in mind for this quilt, but I'll have to see how it
turns out.

My first finished quilt

Here's my first finished quilt! The stitching isn't visible in the photo, but I machine quilted a zig-zag pattern onto each row and I'm really pleased at the way it turned out. The fabrics are from the Arcadia collection from Moda.

Basket of 3" strips

Here's the basket of 3" strips I'm using to assemble the blocks. Each
block is taking about ten minutes using this cut-as-I-go method. I cut the fabric into 3" strips, and then I just use the longer strips to create the block and cut off the remainder of the strip to use again.  I don't have a color palette, I'm just using fabrics I love.
